SMILE is a web-based system designed for viewing and keeping track of patients’ dental records, dental services, and billing statements. It can also be used for supplies and equipment inventory and booking of appointments. It is also capable of generating reports. The researchers choose to build a web-based system because as of now almost all people can access the Internet and it will be easier and more convenient if almost all transactions and services of the dental clinic can be viewed through the Internet. This will also help the patients if the dentist is not present in the clinic not to waste time and effort in going to the clinic expecting that the dentist is present in their desired schedule.
